"I like doing oil changes - it is good therapy !"

Well said that man.

I used to have a signum with this self same 3.0 v6 isuzu diesel engine in. I did manage to get the filter housing off with a spider type filter tool, but it took 2 people an a very long bar and much cursing!!!
It always smoked was noisey at tickover and i never really got on with it. It did go like the clappers tho, useless in the wet with it being a manual, would spin wheels in 3rd and 4th if you had any lock on.

[QUOTE=VEL SATISfied;524159]Tony, have you driven the VS abroad and if so how did you get on with changing the angle of your xenon headlight beam?

Sorry VEL SATISfied for long delay in replying to your question. I've been away from my computer (in France but this time courtesy of Ryanair much cheaper). I've not done anything about changing the angle of my headlights. Primarily as I travel down in the daylight and if out at night I'll just use the spotlights.

hi all,
I am a proud new owner of a vel satis 3.5 v6 initiale.
Where do I start, well what a car for the money superb impressed with it in every way ( apart from fuel usage but then again you dont buy a 3.5 v6 engine for economy!!) . superb power , superb luxury everything works now as is should do.

Just thought I,d let you know that I found a fault after buying privately so no warranty that:
I had a service report that kept intermittently appearing on dash and after a while (when it started to rain that is) that the wipers were not working at all when service was on dash .
Traced it down after few swear words and expecting it to be rain sensor to dodgy electrical connector that connected to wiper motor( next to battery). cleaned connector and closed gap and roughed up spade ends.

All seems fine now (touch wood). service message dissapeared. car only done 38000 miles so wondered if anyone else had encountered same problem?. and to advise people who get same problem to investiagate wiper motor connection first.

all the best to you all.

Does the multichanger still play cd's? If no i'd suspect a dirty laser pickup on the cd player, purchase a pickup cleaning disc for a fiver and try that before pulling the unit out of the dash.
