basically - with HIDS - BE VERY VERY CAREFULL! as there is a huge voltage running through the balast packs and if your sensible - you'll take the battery off and leave them for 10mins to discharge!

if you want pm me your address and i'll email you the *cough* workshop manual over
Welsh wizard just about to buy a VS not sure if it good idea after reading these posts though, had one did 36 miles and turbo went and clutch, is in garage being repaired luckily they had two in so I said dont want the first one will have other one which costs a bit more (53 plate 2.2dci with lower mileage) pick it up next weekend.

Could you email me copy of manual too, been on the vel satis site and registered but cannot seem to access any pdf files for electrics etc

Re: The Vel Satis Club, for all things Vel....

Hi guys,

I work at an auction and thought you might be interested to know that we sold a Vel Satis last night.

It was an 02-reg 2.0T Privilège, with the full cream leather interior. 66,000 miles on the clock and an MOT until June 2010.

The vehicle was showing "Automatic Parking Brake Fault", missing the rear wiper and needed a general tidy.

Sold for £1,100.
Currently in MéganeDynamique's garage:
Avantime 3.0 V6 24v Privilège Auto, Vel Satis 3.0 dV6 Initiale, Vel Satis 2.2 dCi Auto Privilège, Laguna II 3.0 V6 24v Dynamique, Mégane II 2.0 VVT Dynamique, Mégane 1.6 Auto Privilège+ Convertible, Clio 1.9 RT-D

Re: The Vel Satis Club, for all things Vel....

Hi everyone,

this going to be my first post on this very forum.

I've got a Vel Satis 2.2DCi with 02 plate and got more than 116k miles done. Like most of you I love to drive this car because of comfort etc., however I would like to know if you guys experiencing the same low mileage to gallon of fuel. You can find on ie. autotrader that this model should do on the motorway 48 miles to the gallon.
I'm driving every day about 30 miles to work and back. More than 80% on motorways. Half of each way I'm spending in traffic doing no more then 20 mph. However, when roads are not busy and you can drive properly I can't have more then 40 mpg - 2000 rpm , 65 - 70 mph and 6th gear.
So far I've changed air filter, cleaned MAF sensor. New fuel filter and fuel treatment in the tank (injector cleaners, etc.). Tyres also equally "pumped" (I'm not native English language speaker) to 33 PSI.
So ... Is it something wrong with mine or just need to accept the fact that I can't do more than 40 mile to the gallon on the motorway.
Regards - Matt.
