Check that you have properly closed the rear passenger doors .
I know it sounds daft but I borrowed a grand scenic recently as a loan car whilst mine was in having work done (lag).
I had opened the offside rear passenger door to stow a spare can of de -icer in the door pocket (to stop it rolling about in the boot)and the car would not lock no matter how hard I tried !!!
Also (being dark ) the interior lights would not dim and cancel.
On checking the dashboard for warnings nothing showed on the monitor panel so I went about checking the unobvious and it was that!!!!!!!!
