I find it amazing that after all these years and with all the advancements made in cars, getting the heater matrix out is still a nightmare job on most cars.

Did one on a Peugeot estate some years back.....took me best part of the whole weekend and I had workshop facilities.

Came to the conclusion that in many models the construction process starts with the heater and then everything else is built around it!

Even the old common or garden Ford Sierra took about 5 hours......and the dash always rattled and squeaked afterwards.

B!**dy daft if you ask me!


PS............Phil39 - the Haynes manual basically says that the job on an 'air-con car' is a complete p*g so take it to your Renault dealer. I can't believe that's really true; Someone viewing this forum must have done one, surely........
