Clock bulb replacement
I replaced a blown bulb on the clock display of my 2000 Scenic recently.
I found that after removing the two screws under the speaker grills the best thing to release the dashboard was to insert a thin paint scraper all around the joint and gently lift up to release the clips. Once the dash is free just pull towards you and lift.
Once out of the way it's possible to replace the bulb without removing the unit from the car, just reach behind and twist the bulb out. The replacements I bought from Halfords came complete with plastic holder so the bulb didn't need replacing in the old holder before refitting.
Refitting is the reverse of removal only much easier.
I didn't pay any attention to the bulbs in the Rev Counter/Speedo display but I assume when, and if, the time comes the procedure is pretty much the same.
Does anyone know any different?
