I haven't yet had a quote for fitting a new clutch (it needs doing soon). However I have seen others post figures of 700+, for a main dealer.

Unless somewhere like Mr Clutch has a sneaky way to replace the clutch without removing the engine, then it *is* an expensive repair.

The good new, possibly, is that I'd expect an engine-out repair to make it cheaper to also replace the cambelt at the same time. But I'd think you're still looking at close to 1000 from somewhere other than a dealer.

I'm thinking about doing exactly this repair myself, as spending 1000 on a car worth around 1000 is madness, IMHO.
