Re: Modus Fuel Filler Flap will not open

Can you not do the same as above, but reach round the car and close the flap while you have the lever lifted?

The post in the catch will not lift with the lever or by pushing upwards.

Then you have little choice but to take it out and buy a new solenoid

But perhaps wire it to a 12v supply to test it before you replace it

Re: Modus Fuel Filler Flap will not open

Thanks for this timely post! Same thing happened to me, went to tank up and flap wouldn't open. Initially it looked like a garage job but following your instructions I managed to unlock it, and so far the peg is staying up. Point of information: the lever is almost out of reach and mine was very stiff, you missed the crucial steps of barking a knuckle and emitting the correct swearword before it comes free. This is turning out to be a typical Renault, brilliant design, superb build quality, excellent mechanicals, electrics salvaged from a skip outside the Fiat factory
