Running a Kangoo Trekka 1.9 turbo diesel. I have a Russeck Pocket Mechanic handbook. My fuel filter is exactly as described and pictured in the book. However, it says that the filter can opened and the internal filter changed. On mine (without removing from the vehicle) it appears as if the unit is sealed and disposable. There are no apparent screws or anything. Does anyone have this type and are they replaced as a unit?

Hello, I have an 03 Trekka 1.9 Diesel 4x4. The fuel filter is a sealed unit and it comes with all the outlets for the pipes. The part number is R82 00 416 946 002201. £31.03 retail plus Vat. You cannot get into this sealed unit, Thanks Adrian

My guess,(and stress it's only a guess!) is that as with many 'utility' vehicle manufacturers (eg Land-Rover) they've eliminated the replaceable filter for a sealed unit. More expensive of course, but the 'plus' side is that it's less messy to change, and (as I did once with my old 'Landy')if the gasket on the unit has worn a bit thin, as soon as you turn on oil pees out all over your garage floor!
Off topic if I may, I have a Kangoo 1.9 D55 van and would like to fit wider steel wheels to it. I don't yet know what width my standard wheels are but the tyres are 165/70x13.
Do you know if your Trekka wheels might be wider than this?
