Hi Really helpful post guys thanks!

If i had read this before and realised how easy it was i wouldn't have taken the scenic to the garage and paid £170 for a pair. .

It seems crazy that such poor quality parts are used for these cars, many people use the scenic (particularly desiels) for towing - like i used to, at that rate i'd be getting through a set a year!

To be fair though in 2 1/2 years of ownership only replaced a battery, alternator and now rear shocks so not so bad (compared to my Pajero costing £1,200 in repairs and servicing in 5 months!) - the joys of motoring!
