Laguna II won't start - parking brake fault **Fixed**

Hi my 2005 Laguna 1.9 dci has suddenly developed a serious fault and I'd like to know if I can try anything myself to reset it (funds are a bit tight). The car was working fine and then it wasn't used for a few days. Today I couldn't get the engine to start. It just clicks and a red Parking Brake Fault shows up. I looked on this forum and tried a reset (of sorts) with the drivers door open which temporarily removed the red warning but still clicked repeatedly instead of starting the engine. It also wouldn't let me the lock the car. I left it and returned after an hour to find that the original red message was back and I can now lock it.

Is there anything else I can try? If not, is this problem expensive to get repaired? Thanks.
