One further thought - afaik the downstream sensor is used mainly to monitor the efficiency of the cat. If you are replacing the sensor because you are getting a fault code that says that the cat efficiency is below threshold, maybe it is.
Worryingly you can break a cat by driving through a deep puddle - a problem on the roads round here.
