That's good advice, I never used to use the hand brake when stopping at lights etc until I recently read an article suggesting just the point that Xileno has made.
Always use it now.
As a matter of interest, I've not had to change the brakes on the bus yet but have on the Porker, the total cost with a decent indepenent was £550+VAT for pads and disks all round which I reckon was probably 2/3 of the main dealer price.
