Or simply drive the Espace to France - and get it serviced with the cambelt replaced over there. Heard its a lot cheaper over there for labour costs, compared to UK / London charges.
If I recall correctly, my local specialist in SE London wanted £600+ to do the job (yes, he said 10.5 hours) plus parts.
Anyone know the servicing costs aboard? Or the cost of replacing the cambelt, all inclusive? I couldn't find any detailed thread in the RenaultForums. If nobody know, I might post a reply in one or two months time after I've popped over to France for a 2-day break.
Drives a V3.0 Grand Espace RXE. Previous seller claimed that the cambelt was replaced just before I bought the car an year ago but would not supply any proof (e.g. receipts). Simply said that a mate did the job. Still not sure if I want to fork out £££ to do this cambelt job this year whilst aboard, or just leave it as it is - and hope it'll be OK for the next few years (holding the previous seller's written claim on record, he stated that clearly on his
.uk auction description).
