In truth,you never had 14 days in witch to do repairs,anyway.
If you didn't represent your car with in 1 working day,you should have had a full retest done,it's just that not many garages ever did this.
Now we are computerised,we have no option but to adhere to the exact VOSA rules.
There are only certain things that can be repaired and the vehicle represented without incourring a full retest,but if the car is not taken away from the test station a partial retest and no fee applies.

This is NOT garages 'ripping people off',it is garages being told what to do by VOSA(a government department).We have no option but to adhere to the rules or risk loosing our test licence.

Any queries can be answered by looking at the VOSA website.

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
