Wow, seems to me like Northern Ireland is much like Finland for their MOT's. Here there are NO garages offering MOTs except specialised places that only do the tests, no repairs. The tests are much like those in NI (i.e. suspension and whatnot) but they are also REALLY tight on the emissions. Perhaps it has something to do with all the trees...
Like everywhere, everything is computerised to the point that the garage can pull up your cars ENTIRE history with a single click. Really saves time if they can see what's been done/not done in the past and what to check up quickly.
Anyways, not to get side-tracked too much, my quick question is this: I recently had my HG, Cylinder head and god knows how much more replaced but also have a hole in my exhaust up near the engine (just after the catalysator the garage said). They didn't replace it because it 'wasn't a Renault brand exhaust'. Hmm. The noise is fairly loud though only when driving at highish revs. When ticking over, it is much softer.
Is this going to fail my MOT (due in a few weeks)? Also, will it affect the emissions?
Cheers all and great thread.
