Would still take the drums off, and adjust the back brakes correctly.
Have you tried undoing, then tightening the wheel nuts/pins up, when it is off the ground, handbrake applied. You will be surprised how easy the wheel turns. Even though one can not turn the wheel, by grasping it .

I think, aesthetically, car design is so interesting - the dashboards, the steering wheels, and the beauty of the mechanics. I don't know how any of it works, I don't want to know,
