The nut goes pretty much all the way in. Very close to if not as far as the nut on the opposite caliper. But it still leaks out rapidly.
Would a tap and tie set work to recut the thread? If I can work out what size they are.
It seems to me that the thread just pushes the flanged pipe into a seat which is where the seal happens. Since the nut goes in almost the entire way maybe if the threads are knackered at the far end, I can use some sort of make shift copper olive around the back end of flange so the nut applies pressure before reaching the original full depth and seals it anyway?
If I do have to refit the entire flexi is it tough to manoeuvre into place? Is the fixing at the other end a sod too?
Oh ye one more thing. How much pressure should i be putting on this nut? I was really putting a whack on trying to seal it which led to the rounding
