Re: car been sat for just over a year
Not yet, Battery probably NBG,
jacked it up, both back tires not moving, both front tires move (just about), charged battery for about 3 hours, car did NOT start, dash lights just flickered and car went Tick, Tick, Tick ,Tick, changed spark plugs(had some spare) , no difference. 1 spark plug was COVERED in
cap), no idea if leak, or just spillage?. took battery charger off car, and it did not have enough power to lock the car lol.
think it is worth getting back on the road or buying a new car??
cant get battery out, the clap it is being held on by is very tight, i had to use a extension lead to go to the car, plug charger in that and connect it to battery. will put it on charge first thing tomorrow and leave it most of the day. it was almost dead when i left it last time (it was not keeping the charge), so i assume new alternator needed for that?
Alternators don't usually fail by standing, sounds like battery was tired when you left it. As you have another motor, why not try jump leads, if it starts, then just a new battery needed. Brakes may free off if you move it a few yards.
