Re: Has anyone had this happen to them?
Never happened to me thank goodness!
Here is a tip for you - I find out and write down the official part numbers for service items like brake pads and discs for my car. You can usually do this by going through the service history receipts.
I then do a search on
for that part number and subscribe to alerts for that search.
Now and again you get sellers who seem to buy up old stock of parts and you can often find genuine pads for about £15 a set (my car is a 55 reg).
So over time I stock up on genuine Renault parts like brake pads for less than you can buy cheap aftermarket bits for.
I would rather use genuine parts and £15 compared to dealer prices is a no brainer.
Great advice but still be careful. Those Landrover parts I mentioned had the correct part numbers and were boxed with the Landrover logos. All that was before
is now crawling with counterfeit stuff.
It was hard getting over my addiction to the Hokey Cokey, but I've turned myself around and that's what it's all about.
