They do that, MOT testers are checked by statistics, anyone who passes everything, with no advisories given gets investigated. My bike MOT man has this problem. As bikers look after their bikes MUCH better than car owners. He was So glad when my headlamp didn't work for 5 mins, till I wobbled the wires in the shell.
