Have you tried lifting the arm off the window, undo the nut but leave it on a few threads, then wiggle it gently on the spline shaft - i say gently as you don't want to ruin the splines.
Place some towels on the window also to protect the glass incase the arm slaps back down again.
I have, but it moved just about as much as my dead granddad does nowadays. It's a UK car with 157k miles on it, so I think there may be a little bit of corrosion inhibiting it from coming apart. Might continue dousing it with WD40 for now, and maybe eventually it'll come off.
