Still keeping an eye on the situation!!!! They told me early spring when they finally agreed to do a "Quality Campaign". However I have still got my old Scenic registered on the RUK website and there are currently no "Quality Campaigns" to speak of yet.
I wouldn't worry about Dealers saying they have never heard of the fault, they probably haven't as RUK like to keep things very much inside closed doors. I do know a few dealers however who know about this problem very well.
We'll keep checking. If anyone is concerned about the problem, contact customer services at RUK and tell them. You can tell a lot by sniffing the switch, if it smells a bit like TCP then chances are that something is occuring inside the switch, it only exhibits the symptoms of failure when the fault is in it's advanced stages so is very hard to spot.
