Hello,and welcome to the forum.
Did your car have a rev counter on the old dash?.If it didn't,unfortunately it's not just a case of plugging in the new dash.The 16v has a rev counter as standard and the engine is fitted with a sensor that works it,if your engine doesn't have this sensor (and possibly the wiring loom to run it) then it won't work.It is the same situation with the oil temperature gauge.

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
