Cheers lads, Yea the fittings came with it are just too narrow basically but it is a thread at each end of the bar.

The top and bottom of the bars are rubber coated and if I put a cloth in between, Should cause no damage to the bars when I find a suitable fix.

Allthough you hate them mate, I need it for our France trip. I dont want to tow anything that far (only just found out what I can tow thanks to this forum) as I am an in-experienced tow-er and I feel it would be silly to do so if not dangereous!

I had thought about opening the back door and standing there or maybe pack a little step Or outside my house the kerb is quite high so that helps!

Right I'll have a butchers at halfords and B+Q etc this weekend.

I have heard of the clamps Pat speaks of but I have seen them once on ebay and there like 70 from renault!
