ahh right,thanks. i have charged it up and it starts on the button every time. then i killed it with the tyre inflator (and when i ran out of fuel and couldnt start it at the side of the motorway... whoops) so i think in the long run a new battery may be in order.
Might be worth also getting a multi meter on the battery terminals when its running to make sure the volts etc are right, it could be an indication that the alternator is on the way out as its strange the battery dies after one bout of usage from a tyre inflator
