In my experience, unless the car has been specifically designed with that fuel in mind, then the car is running as much on placebos as anything else...

The government get enough money from us, without us volunteering more.

Its a bit like the old days with 2-, 3-, 4-, and 5-star petrol, unless the ignition had been advanced, or it was a high-compression variant, there was no benefit to using a higher-octane fuel than was recommended.

Additives which clean the engine are a different kettle of fish though!
