Just looked at my Scenic 2
3-4mm unswept area on outer rim of discs.

If you have swapped any parts, are the new same as old?

If something you've just seen but brakes are working and providing power (MOT readings) then I would not worry.
As long as disc is clear of caliper and no one has put incorrect pads in.
If they have done the latter, that area may mean that new pads will not bed in easily.
