The MO5076 update i downloaded wasn't for the unit i've got installed in my car. it burnt, no problem but it spat the CD out. I am guessing that the Update I require will be a Navteq release of some sort and not a VDO CD.

Red Disc

It would appear the disc icon will go red when your satellite position doesn't corroborate with the Map on the CD. For example, my disc icon shows red when I am on a new section of the A1 (and driving through some fields on the screen). Its apparent that the CD map is not truely up to date and therefore your position is not verified. As soon as I reached where the new section of the motorway meets the old, the CD turned Green instantly and we're back on course....
