Stereo making a clicking noise when CD in?

Hello - I'm new so please be gentle!
Just decided to buy a 2003 Renault Laguna II Dynamique Techno.
With this model came a Caminat stereo/sat nav. The sat nav only provides basic instructions, and is not a full colour map (I know what I'm trying to say!!)

Anyway, not even a week since I've had it, everytime I start up the car and the CD player checks for a CD present it makes this horrible clicking noise for about 20 seconds.
I am assuming that a bearing has gone inside?
Have looked all over the net, but can't find anywhere that sells replacement stereos for my model.

I'm not too fussed about the sat nav as I use a TomTom, so was considering putting in a new headunit. Once again looked everywhere for instructions of how to safely remove the original, but no joy...

My questions are:
1 - Is it an easy enough job to stop this clicking?
2 - If not, how do I go about removing the stereo, as I can't see any holes for removal keys to go into...also, is it a standard ISO connection?

Many thanks
