Question Laguna II - Stuck Fuel Filler!

Not sure if this should be in the electronics or bodywork section?

I've got a 2002 1.8 Laguna II Dynamique that has generally proved a to be a decent second hand buy. Unfortunately it's just developed a fault whereby the fuel filler cap is refusing to unlock although it still seems to lock ok.

I've just filled the car up with fuel but had to manually pull the fuel filler cover open which was quite a struggle and will in time end up breaking. Having just had a look it seems that the locking pin that's supposed to release when the car is unlocked has stopped working.

Do I need to purchase a replacement part or can this be repaired somehow?

Any help appreciated!!
