The connectors are all the same, and the lights work, the mountings are even the same, but the adjuster motor fouls the front metal framework just to the side of the upper mounting bolt. Maybe I'm just trying to fit them in at the wrong angle (don't ask about the half an hour I spent trying to lock the back speakers back into the roof for an example of my apparent stupidity with mechanical fittings) but maybe I need to dremel out a bit of the framework.

Odd thing is I just had a look at a motor factors and it seems the a replacement front panel is suitable for all models 1994-1998, but perhaps that just means the replacement part has the adequate clearance for the levelling motor on the phase 2 lights, since there's no reason for why having the cutaway would prevent phase 1 headlights fitting.
