Leather steering wheels going slippy/shiny

Hi does anyone else have a problem where there renault has a poor quality leather steering wheel, mine has only done 30k and the steering wheel went from a really nice rough grippy texture to a smooth slippy one, the wheel is shiny all the way round where the hands make contact. It does not have silicone or anything on it. Ive used various cleaners some that are very strong and they do not make a difference. Its not nice to use anymore due to it being so slippy, its almost as if it is plastic and not leather.
Its an 03 reg laguna but similar meganes etc I'm interested in.

Any info welcome
