I have a Laguna 1.9dci and a C-Max 2.0TDCi so I can compare for you. The Laguna runs at mid to high 40's mpg, and the C-max mid 30's to mid 40's mpg - both doing similar running.
Yes its a Laguna not a Scenic, and yes its the 2.0 C-max not the 1.8 that you have - but either way I reckon you'll see at least 10% better economy from the Renault.
However factor in all the extra cash you'll need to spend on your Renault against your Ford during your ownership (in my opinion).
Pro's/Cons... Renault has better padding, better toys and a better stereo, but is made from paper mache. Ford has rattly dash etc but doesn't need as many niggly things fixed on it.
If I was to choose I'd go for the Ford. Sorry Renault fans. I was just thinking there...I did have the choice and did go for the Ford lol.
