Ended up costing 250 for parts and work on the head - timing belt gubbins, gaskets, head stretch bolts then oil , antifreeze etc etc

I like to think I did the job myself but I didn't I drafted in willing family members 'cos I was clueless, especially during setting the timing up at the end.

Adding labour onto that gets you close to the 500 you got quoted Tigz, but access on the Megane is a lot easier than the Espace So that's going to add to the labour I think

EDIT - Oh and mines a petrol I don't know if that makes the engine any easier to work on over a derv or not
