Re: DIY paintwork help :|
Interesting you should mention this. A few weeks ago some s*d chipped the paintwork on my Twingo, right down to the plastic. I want the best possible touch up without it looking like it's been touched up - I found a lot of useful information on detailingworld.co.uk.
But as the chips are so deep, and larger than your regular stone chips, I've decided to repair the damage using spray paint. Sort of. I'm going thin down the paints and use an airbrush to spray on the primer, touch up paint, and lacquer. The airbrush allows me to control the rate of spray as well as the spread. I'm practising using it at the moment; when I'm confident that I have adequate control, I'll complete the job.
Airbrushes aren't too expensive for a basic model; the needle size should be at least 0.4mm for use with thicker paints.
