Most people know when to start spending money on a car - sometimes its more difficult to know when to stop - that's the hard bit. Yeh sometimes we can get sentimental with our cars but I learnt that lesson a long time ago when after spending loads of money and many hours of tender loving care on my car - some little pikey stole it and burnt it.
It's always difficult to know when to cut and run but generally don't let your heart rule your head.
Good Luck with whatever you decide to do
I know what you mean Noel, I had a J reg orion 1.6i Ghia, paid £700 for her in a sorry state. Spent a while doing the work, head gasket, re-painted a door, alloys and various other odds n ends. Kept her for a year and then decided to sell up for a profit. Parked it up on my mums drive with a for sale sign in the window. 4 days later some toe rag nicked it. Got the car back a week later minus the engine. I had a block and tackle in the boot wich I had used to replace the engine in another escort I had a week earlier and forgot to take it out, the lil buggers used it to remove the engine and kept that aswell!!!
