reversing parking aid problem
i have a 54 Laguna, with reversing parking aid.
a few days ago it stopped working, failed to 'beep' on putting the car into reverse.
after some digging i found the control unti for it behind the trim in the boot area drivers side. to my logic, it had be installed upside down, as the connector was to the top, allowing the cover to become a bucket for any moisture. and sure enough, when i opened it, it was half full of water. bit surprised, but as it is near the fuel filler, quite possible.
so it looked ok, i cleaned and dryed it and reinstalled, and wey hey! it sprang back in to life ! yeh!!!!
but next day, no parking sensor again, HUMPH!
so, did the unit die as a result? if so, how much for a new unit? and any other things to try??
fuse ok by the way, as is the reversing switch on the gear stick.
any ideas will be appreciated, or even just an idea of the costs of a new board, it is really very simple, but there again, could be costly!
i look forward to your learned replies
