Megane coupe cabriolet.
My turn to ask questions - I don't think I have asked many questions on here before!
The 206cc is getting to be cramped in the back for the kids. We have thought about either upgrading to a 307cc or a Megane cc.
307cc insurance is grp14, Megane is grp7/8. Also to get decent spec in 307 means 180bhp petrol 2.0l or new 2.0hdi - both too expensive for our budget and needs (180bhp petrol = large petrol and insurance bills). We like the privilege spec ( dynamique interior is too dark, expression too basic) of the megane.
As a second car we will only be doing about 7k or 8k miles a year.
We can't decide between a 1.9dci (120bhp) or the 1.6 petrol.
I know the pitfalls of the 1.9dci and know what it is like as its the same engine as in the Laguna.
Is the 1.6 petrol any good in the cc? or is it slightly underpowered due to the extra weight?
We will be buying secondhand (prob 04 plate) so is the dci worth the extra money over the petrol?
We have yet to drive either a 307 or megane as we need to do our sums first - if we look before we sort finances out we will only want to buy!
Any advice gratefully received.
