Unhappy Central Locking

Hi all,
New here, interesting place.
I have just bought a 1999 clio 1.2 RN for my son as his first car. Problem is the central locking doesn't work.Looking at the sensor under the aerial there are signs of water ingress and the circuit board is fried. The immobiliser light flashes when the car is locked and we have no trouble starting the car. So I have no idea if the immobiliser is actually doing anything as far as immobilising the car goes. Really what I want is to get the central locking working again, is it likely to be as simple as just buying a new circuit board and plugging it in or do things have to be reprogrammed. If so what, and how.
Thanks in advance.
