Hello
I've began the operation of removing the gearbox off my old van because the clutch is very stiff.
After quite a bit of research over the net on french forums I'm 90% sure that the cause of the problem is a little thing (rotule) in french. This is up by the thrust bearing fork. I suspect its worn. So it's all coming off.
It looks like the end of a pushrod? If not able to find a new one could you remove the old one and get a machine shop to turn a new one on a lather using the old one as a pattern.
Can you turn the drive shaft one 180 , and just go for it...
It will come back out, but you will have to really hit it..
The other way, Its a g clamp, socket, and "something" that will go into the hole. but protruding enough that one end of the g clamp will touch the "something"
Then screw and it will force out, but only have a small piece of " something" protruding, not more than a 1/2 of an inch.... but then its keep extending the " something ",,,
Not sure what pin/bolts I used for the "something"
thanks again I will try a g clamp tomorrow. One end of the roll pinis all flattened and stuck 2mm inside the hole the other end has the punch stuck in it about 1mm inside the whole. The punch is tapered aswell.
I will try some more brute force punching then some g clamping. If these fail maybe drill it or is it possible to separate the driveshaft some more? This will involve taking the gaiter off I suppose.
Well I've tried a bit but I don't have a g clamp big enough. Under torch light the mashed up roll pin end(without the punch) looks like a solid mass. Thinking of taking the shaft off at the hub end then taking the gearbox out with it still attached now.
