scenic 2 rear pad computer setting

I have to replace the rear pads on a scenic 2 (57 reg).
I have searched the forums and it looks straight forward.
Why do the dealers tell me the handbrake computer has to be , reset, or put in service mode.
Can I ignore this?
potential bills of 500 to 1000 pounds concern me

Re: scenic 2 rear pad computer setting

Assuming the car has an eletronic handbrake unless the correct reset procedure is not followed the computer will need to be reset.

Some members have been able to change their own rear pads on such models.

Have a search of the forum for electronic handbrake or the like.
