03 scenic brakes gone vague

Hi, I have a 2003 scenic 1.6. I was driving it today and the brakes have gone really vague. They have been fine up until today but now I really have to put quite a bit of pressure on the pedal to get them to work. Its also kind of intermittent as after a few sharp brakes they seem to pick up but after a short while they drop off again. It was raining pretty heavy today but that doesnt normally affect my brakes. I havent had a chance to get around and look into it yet and apart from the obvious I'm not really sure what i would check. Does anyone have any ideas as its something i need to get sorted quickly. Thanks in advance.

Re: 03 scenic brakes gone vague

It may be there is a vacuum leak at the brake servo or pipework.
