basically a fail point on my mot was the brake pedal was unsafe. basically the bar that joins the break pedal to what i believe is called the brake vacuum servo has snapped at some point and previous owner has done a diy homemade job to replace it but what i wanna know is an this bar be bought seperately as every scrap yard has told me its the master cylinder which needs replaced and the bar cant be had on its own.

can anyone shed any light on this

Re: MOT failure brake pedal

that bar is pretty tough and shouldnt break. if you have to replace it, it may need the entire dashboard and aircon system be removed to get to all the mechanism.
the master servo is a common failure point and can easily be replaced.
can you provide pics of where the so-called break is on it?

there are about 3 or 4 different versions of the master servo unit, so you need the part numbers off your current one to get a match.
