Re: Oil lamp when using brakes
If it's the OIL light it's not anything to do with brakes or water.
Did you check oil on level ground with engine stopped for a few minutes. Check it twice and look at both sides of dipstick.
Does yours have an oil pressure light and a level light. If it's the level light and oil is ok, it could be a faulty sensor.
I've marked the bottles for you.
Pads look fine--coloured blue and less than half worn but disc is getting ropey. The band marked black is fairly normal. The yellow band is not wearing properly and will reduce performance. Sometimes the inner face of the disc can be worse so if both discs are the same you will be losing quite a bit of braking power.
Best budget for new discs AND pads soon.
As pads wear out, the brake fluid level drops and can bring handrake warning light on dash and maybe stop light-- not the oil light though.
