Re: Renault Modus
About 5 years ago I wrote to one brake manufacturer - I think it was Apec I ain't certain) and I got an email clearly stating that copper grease should not be used. Sadlly due to a PC crash I lost the file.
In my opinion it may be useful to smear a tiny amount of copper grease on the edges of the metal backing of the pad where they come in contact with the caliper but I would not recommend using copper grease anywhere near the back of the pads. If there is a vibration between the back of the pad and the face of the caliper I can't see grease being a good permanent insulator - much better ensuring evry contact surfcae is perfectly clean or use a brake pad insulation material.
