Question Brakes still squeaking

Hi all I recently got a 2006 Clio dsi 1.5 as I do 300 miles a weekend for work. After about a month of having it the brakes started squeaking so I changed the pads and discs. When i changed them i looked at the old ones and still had just under half a pad left on there but i changed them anyway thinking the squeaking would stop but there still squeaking does anyone have any idea why they are still doin it and if so so you know how to stop it?

Re: Brakes still squeaking

Did you apply coppaslip/copperslip (not sure about spelling) to the back of the pads? That is supposed to stop squeaking.

It is also possible you have a brake caliper that is sticking slightly and needs freeing off?

It's also possible to have a small amount of squeal during the bedding in period.

Certainly though, a stuck caliper or loose shim (behind the pad) is more likely to cause noise. Any copper grease between the shim (if there is one) and the back of the pad will help to stop this sort of noise. Be very careful not to get any on the friction material or the disc though.
