Grinding on New Brake Pads

Hello, new to this forum and wondering if anyone can help - I changed the brake pads on my X reg Clio last year and they are now grinding. I had a look and there is still loads of wear left on the pads - i only drive about 1000 miles a year (if that!) it sounds like it is coming from the front left. I have seen that it might be a build up of brake dust and i need to clean the calipers - what do you recon? thanks in advance for any help

Re: Grinding on New Brake Pads

If the discs are worn and have a lip around the edge, the new pads will be hitting that ridge until they wear down to fit. If the discs are lipped, they should be replaced really.
