brake pads,discs

i`v had a scenic now for the last 3 years, everthing was fine untill about a year ago when i had front pads and disc`s fitted!(garage has now gone bust).. The problem is that since they were changed i started to hear a squeak from the front left evertime the wheel revolved(at low speed) now it`s making the same type of noise when i turn corners, at first it sounded like a budie chirpping but now it sound like metal against metal, have changed the pads today(the old one`s were fine, plenty of life was still in them)on a hope it would stop but on a small test run the squeak on the front left is still there!! Any ideas what next peeps??

Re: brake pads,discs

When the wheell was off the ground did you check by rotating it if there was any sound .
Was there any juddering under braking.
Did the pads you replaced wear evenly?
I mean was the outer edge worn the same as the inner part?
Have the discs worn much?

Were the discs original renault or "just as good ones"?

Checking if the discs are tue probably isnt a diy job.
Did the pistons look ok and the other parts,no piles of accumulated brake dust?
Clean contact on the back of the old pads?
Aside from what youve done only other diy things I can think of would be a little copaslip grease or similar on the brake moving parts/spring contacts..NONE on pad contact faces or the discs or fluid seals..
Unless this noise is really bad and not the annoying whish whish you get sometimes from brakes.
Let the pads bed in and the auto adjustment settle. If it continues get the discs checked.

Re: brake pads,discs

Thanks for replying, took it on a hundred mile run yesterday and the from the off it was making the same squekin noise when i sightly turn the wheel, got on the motorway an herd nothin else so decided to take it out for a run in the dry earlier. While it was in park when i turned the wheel it was making a hissing noise(bit like when you let a tyre down sound),me mate who changed the pads said it could be something to do with the power steering but all the fluid levels are fine. The pads that came off looked evenily worn ad th disc`s looked fine,i dont know much about cars at all but me mate is pretty good and i think he would have picked up on the pistons ect! He`s gone on hols now so i`m stuck, shoud i wait and still drive it or take it the garage as it seems to be getting worse than better. Thanks for your time.
