Megane II rear brake pads

Greetings from the Gwent Gulag,
I need to change the rear brake pads on my 2008 Megane II 1.5dci Estate.
Iíve read ChristopherMís thread on changing the rear discs which is going to useful, but he mentions the two star bolts holding the calliper hanger in place. He used a 13mm socket on them and understandably they were tight having been Locktighted in place.
I would prefer to use the right size Torx socket, if I can, but I donít know the size. On another forum a guy asked the same question and claimed to have tried an E12 and an E14 and neither fitted. Someone who replied to his thread said itís an E13, but he must have been extracting the whatsit because there is no such thing as an E13 Torx socket.
Can anyone throw any light on this for me? .

Re: Megane II rear brake pads

Torx female sockets size E13 are like hens teeth and used on some BMW's and the modern minis.

I have only ever seen such a size once and it was in a set of Snap-On sockets - not cheap.

Re: Megane II rear brake pads

It's not uncommon for Renault to use some real awkward sized fixings. I remember try to do the brakes on our Laguna and the caliper bolts were 16mm! Same as the Espace I think.
