Megane Mk2 Brake problem

Hey all,

Got a bit of a problem with the girlfriends Megane,
The rear brake pads are pretty much non existant and there is a big lip on the discs, and because of this I cant get the caliper off the disc, now I know the piston is the wind back type but would the usual trick of sticking a screwdriver in between the disk and pad and try and prise some space work?
Any help/advice appreciated.

Re: Megane Mk2 Brake problem

Try prising back the piston as you may get a slight bit of movement on it, but if that isn't enough you will either have to grind or file a part of the lip off of the disc to allow you to slide the caliper off.

If the disc is lipped enough to stop the caliper being removed it normally indicates that the discs need replacing.
